Interpretive Design – Spring

Another practice design on the road to WAFA Ireland. This time it is early spring so the title was easy…….however choosing the flowers was not as simple, they all looked so good!

Spring Flowers

This design, in a competition, would fall into the category of a “mass” arrangement as similar floral material is grouped together for placement. It is not one of my favoured styles, although it has its place in “modern” work.

The best part of this design is the lovely bent Banksia branch that overhangs the front of the container. This draws your eyes away from the stark whiteness of the container. The container is completely wrong in colour and finish for this design and would have lost me many marks in a competition. Lucky it was just practice!
